My life has literally gone to the dogs
Here is my life.I am happily married, and have a great family and I love my daughter Nikki who lives with me in Florida,so what else can I ask for?Just my dog,Bessie and my guinea pig and two white rats and a parakeet. But lately I have another or two additions to my life.A two year old Golden Retriever named Max.Max was living at the PolkCounty Animal Control shelter because his owner(s) decided to starve him to near death.Nice people, huh? You notice the sarcasm in this.Anyways,we adopted him after the death of our 15 year old yellow lab,Macracken. He is like a giant child with 4 legs.He is as sweet as honey, and is about the color of honey. He is more red than gold.Anyways my new friend Max only weighs 55 pounds. He should weigh a lot more.I am working on that.I am disabled and hope to train him as a service dog.Sometime this week he is going to be neutered. He was supposed to,but wasn't.Then there is the loveable little old man,Hunter.Hunter is a six year old Beagle. He was going to be dropped off as we were waiting on Max,but either due to his age or lack of room, the shelter staff told the man who had Hunter they would put him to sleep within three day.I couldn't see that ever happening,so we took him in.He became my daughter's dog.He is a little thinner than he should be.We also think he was abused in some way.We are trying to make him healthier by feeding him anything.I know, people food isn't great for a dog,but we have to make Hunter gain weight.Bessie is the head bitch in charge...or alpha dog.But she says its her way or not.I have to teach her she cannot snap at others to show the other kids who's the boss.Patience really goes along way at my house.
