Today isn't so bad.
Well after feeling under the weather for what felt like forever, but in reality 4 days,i am starting to feel better, except my cold decided to stick around. My fibromyalgia isn't too bad today, however my neck is another story. It's a pain that never stops hurting and it lets me know when i have over used my right arm.My right arm hurts from my neck down to my right hand.Right now my neck and arm is on fire. Its not a great feeling.I am very tired because of my neck and from having aching, spasing muscles at night that cause me to "attempt" tossing and turning to where i can get comfortable.Yeah right.Whats comfortable anymore?Anyways i do hope i feel at least 90% better for tomorrow and Friday because the hubby has two days off.

Having health issues just stinks
Having major health issues is hard to deal with, especially when your quality of life has gone downhill.Seven years ago when i tried getting out of bed, something in my neck popped.I couldn't move for two days. When i was finally able to move and able to see the doctor,i was told my neck was just a temporary thing, probably a pinched nerve. That was back in 2002.This is now almost the end of 2009 and i still have the pain in my neck, but only worse.Instead of having one herniated disc,i now have two.And because it affects my entire body,i am sick all of the time.I cannot turn my head side to side without getting dizzy and feeling like i am going to throw up.So that means i can't drive anymore.I have limited use of my right arm,and i get a bad tingly feeling down my entire body.My right foot has been affected the most.I have stumbled too many times to count.I cannot work any more because i have headaches that are for worse than a migraine. Now with all of that, three years ago in May,shortly after my husband an i moved to Florida,my muscles in my body started hurting really bad.I was having unexplained chest pains that i have never had before. So after my husband's insurance began,i went to new doctor who didn't listen to my concerns,so i found a new one. This doctor really cared, and actually listened to my concerns. After having lots of blood work drawn, and other tests, their finding was i had Fibromyalgia.Great.My body feels like the muscles have been wrung out like a wet towel.I hurt all over and the tender spots from head to toe hurt bad.Because i have a problem getting around,i sometimes rely on a can to help support me when i walk.Have i mentioned that i am 47 years old and feel as if i am 90?I am embarrassed to say that i need help from my husband to help me when i use the bathroom.I cannot wipe myself anymore, and god forbid we are at Disney. He has to come into the companion restroom to help me.People look as us if we are doing naughty stuff, but we aren't.He is my assistant,my best friend and the most patient man ever. What other man would do this for his wife? And my husband is a former Marine. Now with everything that is wrong with me,i also have Osteoarthritis.I am a walking picture of health. So now i am no longer able to work because of all of this.I am very patient to a point when it comes to my disability court hearing.I am told 18 months is how long it may take.My patience is wearing thinner every day.I feel bad that i cannot help my husband pay rent, bills or put food on the table. With the way i feel, you would think i would be depressed.I can't be.Fibro may have taken a toll on my body, but its not dragging my spirit down too. This is a disease that i don't wish toward anyone.

Bad news
As I had written in my previous blog,I adopted a new dog.His name was Max.He was a beautiful Golden Retriever.Max started acting strange. It all started after he got adjusted to his new house. We have Bessie my Sheltie,Peaches our Malamute, and Hunter our Beagle. For some odd reason he thought he was going to become the dominant dog in the house and persistanly picked on poor Peaches. She is a lover, not a fighter.Every day he would attack her. Then it happened. He started biting the humans in the house and would draw blood. My husband and rest of the family let it slide.
One morning as I was in the bathroom and was coming out,Max was open mouth attacking Peaches. As I tried to walk past the ruckus,he stopped and took a nip at me.He left a tooth mark in my right calf and some scratches.
One morning on my husband's day off,he filled up the dogs water bowl.Max took the bowl and flipped it up causing water to spill all over the floor.
As my husband went to take the bowl from Max,he lunged at my husband, bearing all of his teeth as if he were going to severely hurt my husband. That was all it took.I called the Polk County Animal Services and told them what happened and I told them we were bringing Max back.
At the Polk County Animal Services, they asked what happened. We told them.I was asked if he had bitten or scratched anyone in the last 10 days and when I said yes,I had to fill out a bite report.
To make a long story short,Max was put to sleep because he was aggressive.I felt bad,but he couldn't keep biting people. It was bad enough that he attacked Bessie.

My life has literally gone to the dogs
Here is my life.I am happily married, and have a great family and I love my daughter Nikki who lives with me in Florida,so what else can I ask for?Just my dog,Bessie and my guinea pig and two white rats and a parakeet. But lately I have another or two additions to my life.A two year old Golden Retriever named Max.Max was living at the PolkCounty Animal Control shelter because his owner(s) decided to starve him to near death.Nice people, huh? You notice the sarcasm in this.Anyways,we adopted him after the death of our 15 year old yellow lab,Macracken. He is like a giant child with 4 legs.He is as sweet as honey, and is about the color of honey. He is more red than gold.Anyways my new friend Max only weighs 55 pounds. He should weigh a lot more.I am working on that.I am disabled and hope to train him as a service dog.Sometime this week he is going to be neutered. He was supposed to,but wasn't.Then there is the loveable little old man,Hunter.Hunter is a six year old Beagle. He was going to be dropped off as we were waiting on Max,but either due to his age or lack of room, the shelter staff told the man who had Hunter they would put him to sleep within three day.I couldn't see that ever happening,so we took him in.He became my daughter's dog.He is a little thinner than he should be.We also think he was abused in some way.We are trying to make him healthier by feeding him anything.I know, people food isn't great for a dog,but we have to make Hunter gain weight.Bessie is the head bitch in charge...or alpha dog.But she says its her way or not.I have to teach her she cannot snap at others to show the other kids who's the boss.Patience really goes along way at my house.
